About
Jonas Denzel (*1990) is a filmmaker and visual artist with a focus on projection mapping, video installation, and documentary film. In 2016, he received a Fulbright Scholarship and studied Film and Media Art at Temple University in Philadelphia. In 2018, Denzel completed his master’s degree in “Time-based Media” with distinction. Commissioned works for public, urban spaces in Leipzig, Chicago and Bucharest among others, followed. In 2021 he won the international video competition IMAPP in Bucharest. As an artist and drummer Jonas‘ goal is to make the audience become part of projections and their locations. He uses rhythms and patterns to create interactive projections. The influence of drums and percussions play an important role in his work.
