Shy Lights explores the distinction between the spotlight™ and searchlight™ by presenting a series of spotlights that actively avoid those who attempt to step into their beam. By stripping the lights of their conventional function to illuminate a subject or performer, the performance transforms into an interplay of light itself. Shy Lights becomes a captivating dance of avoidance and pursuit, a whimsical animated light show responding to the crowd, which, in turn, responds to the lights.
