Daniel Shields is an unconventional fiber artist based in Covington, Ky who specializes in large outdoor yarn installations. His works can be found at various events and music festivals the country including 2023's Suwannee Hulaween in Florida over Halloween weekend, Secret Dreams in Ohio, as well as many smaller events throughout the country. Many people will recognize "String Theory for Dummies" from BLINK 2022, an interactive string piece that represents his second installation at the event since its inception. BLINK is a huge reason Shields began to take art seriously. Following the unexpected success of 2019's "Mycelia Hyphae Shiro" as a small local artist, and the uncertainty that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic immediately after, Shields began to pursue art as a career and hasn't looked back.
