About

Maria AJRAS is an Argentine muralist and visual artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York and working internationally across Argentina, Mexico, Europe, and the United States on large-scale public art projects. Her practice is rooted in the belief that art can reveal what is not yet visible, treating murals as collective thresholds where memory, identity, and emotion emerge into form through color, scale, and gesture. With a background in psychology, she approaches each work through deep listening and community dialogue, translating local narratives into poetic visual compositions that balance realism and abstraction. Her murals—often depicting monumental female figures—function as acts of visibility and reparation, transforming architecture into emotionally resonant spaces that reflect both personal and collective experience.
