Drew Merritt is an American painter and muralist known for his striking realism and his ability to merge classical aesthetics with contemporary urban environments. Beginning his career nearly three decades ago as a graffiti writer in New Mexico, he has since created monumental murals across the United States and internationally, working with brands and organizations such as Tesla, Adidas, UFC, Converse, and Virgin Hotels. His work often juxtaposes Renaissance-inspired portraiture with modern settings, exploring themes of empathy, vulnerability, and time while translating fine art realism to architectural scale through spray paint and latex. Alongside his mural practice, he maintains a fine art studio practice in oil painting, exhibiting work in galleries worldwide and bridging the worlds of street art, fine art, and cultural storytelling.
