Daniel Shields is accidentally an artist. Previously a creative director, he's always had a strong sense for perception but worried he lacked traditional “real” artist skills. It wasn’t until the combined nudge of a successful BLINK 2019 and unsuccessful COVID-19 that an artistic career path was taken seriously as an option. Most of his creations are, at their core, public art that plays with perception and understanding in fundamental ways. Whether with yarn or other means, Dan is always looking for a boundary to push, if for no other reason than to see what’s on the other side.
